Responsibilities
Perform a variety of accounting tasks to support the finance department.
Organize, match, and reconcile credit card statements and receipts, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurately entered into QuickBooks.
Create and maintain mortgage files, generate invoices, and update detailed schedules with interest payments.
Monitor the Accounting inbox for payments and important communications, directing them to the appropriate individuals.
Scan, save, and organize invoices and other payables in the appropriate company folders.
Conduct bank reconciliations for selected small companies.
Assist with completing credit applications for external vendors.
Research, document, and update records of charitable donations made by the foundation.
Maintain and update the storage box listing for offsite financial data, identifying records for annual shredding.
Document and assist in implementing new and improved processes or system implementations, such as expense tracking or QuickBooks integration.
Develop Excel schedules and templates for ongoing and future projects.
Digitize business documents to support the office's paperless initiative.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information.
Perform other detailed accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Currently pursuing a university degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
Basic accounting knowledge with 1-2 years of relevant experience is an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with discretion.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a strong team player with good judgment and problem-solving skills.
