Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, Clinical Programs/CMO, and working in partnership with the Associate Executive Director, Clinical Programs and the Executive Director, Finance and Information Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the MANAGER, CLINCIAL INFORMATICS, will be responsible for providing leadership in the areas of clinical informatics and technology as they relate to practice across the Hospital. This will include working in collaboration with all Hospital departments and Manitoba Digital Health to ensure the achievement of the strategic goals as they relate to decisions, integration and implementation of computer systems across the hospital and performing other related duties as required or assigned. The incumbent will act as the Hospital's contact point for Manitoba Digital Health on matters related to the EPR (Electronic Patient Record) and other clinical applications within the Hospital.

Experience
  • Five (5) years' experience in direct patient care.
  • Three (3) years recent experience in working with computers/computer software and in the system development in a patient care environment required.
  • Experience in hospital management.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline required.
  • Master's degree in a health-related discipline or business preferred.
  • Training in project management is an asset.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of clinical systems used in patient care and the associated workflows.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of various common software applications including spreadsheet, word processing, database, internet and email applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to organize and develop teams of skilled professionals.
  • Oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of personnel, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate change.
  • In depth understanding of Hospital services and operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
