We are looking for a Senior Backend Services Engineer to help us deliver a world-class player experience. If you're driven by the challenge of architecting robust and scalable backend systems that power immersive player experiences while working with other tenured and dedicated developers, then this opportunity could be for you. As a Backend Services Engineer, you’ll build and own the systems that power our games, ensuring their reliability and scalability. You will drive the development of major backend features alongside a motivated and collaborative team. As part of our engineering team, you will contribute to a culture of collaborative problem-solving, technical excellence, and continuous education and improvement.Responsibilities- Collaborate with other teams to design and build game-specific backend features.
- Partner with client-side game engineers to integrate our backend services into the game.
- Develop tools to manage and deploy services and game content.
- Build tools to monitor and stress test our backend services.
- Build and deliver service products end-to-end.
- Participate in discussions and design sessions to contribute to the game's overall backend systems architecture.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers and vendors to integrate their services into the game's backend infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Experience building social multiplayer features for games.
- Strong knowledge of how to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.
- Strong programming and debugging skills in at least one language commonly used for backend service development (C#, Go, Java, etc.)
- Proficiency with integrating services into game client code. Bonus points for Unreal Engine experience.
- Experience integrating with first-party platforms such as Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools and practices (e.g., Terraform or Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud/containerization/virtualization tools.
