About the Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Manager, the Automation Technician (Electrician) is responsible for, but not limited to, performing equipment maintenance (including installation, repairs and maintenance of all machinery & equipment), tooling changes and maintaining the physical structures and electrical systems of the Qualtech Seating Systems facility.

Your Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and preventative maintenance work, complete electrical work orders and perform other electrical duties as assigned.
  • Responsible to maintain and optimize shop floor control systems including the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Ability to learn new processes and keep up to date with new technologies.
  • Work in conjunction with other employees to complete assigned tasks. Actively involved in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support of new program development, participates in the selection of new equipment, general upkeep and updating of present equipment.
  • Perform tool changes and tryouts for tooling improvements.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Your preferred qualifications
  • Electrician trade certification
  • Knowledge of manufacturing maintenance operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Fanuc robots an asset
  • Open to working with an apprentice
