Job Title: Registered Massage Therapist

Cleveland Clinic Canada - Midtown (formerly the reputable, Sports Medicine Specialists est. 1991) is a busy, multidisciplinary sports medicine and rehabilitation clinic near Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto.

We are a friendly, collaborative team of experienced physiotherapists, sports medicine physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, chiropractors, athletic therapists, personal trainers, registered massage therapists, PTA's and a chiropodist that support one another to help our patients achieve their individual goals. Many practitioners work with professional teams like Toronto FC, Toronto Argonauts, National Ballet of Canada, PWHL, Canada Basketball, or at national and international events including the Pan Am and Olympic Games.

We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated registered massage therapist to join our exemplary team. The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited massage therapy training program and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

JOB SUMMARY:

The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of massage therapy experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Work experience in healthcare or sports is an asset. The therapist is responsible for providing massage therapy to patients to help them address specific musculoskeletal injuries or relieve muscle tension. The therapist must be knowledgeable in a variety of orthopedic conditions and use various massage therapy techniques to achieve individualized therapeutic treatment goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform health history and update on patients prior to each visit
Ascertain necessary precautions/contraindications prior to each visit
Assess patient soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength and range of motion as appropriate.
Develops individualized treatment plan to address patient needs and health conditions
Explains risks, benefits, alternatives prior to providing treatment
Explains procedures, and applies techniques appropriate to the patient's needs and preferences
Observes patient reaction to the treatment and solicits feedback and responds accordingly.
Provides patient with post-treatment instruction and exercise as appropriate
Refer to other health professionals as required to address patient needs
Maintains accurate and confidential patient chart and progress notes
Upholds the highest standards of hygiene and professional conduct
Keep massage therapy room clean, organized and professional.
Continuously update skills and knowledge through continuing education and professional development
