Welland, Canada CanadianNanny.ca Part time
Our family lives in Welland and are looking for before and after care starting September 2024. We are also seeking help before September for the occasional weekend or evening. We have a three-year-old son who will be starting junior kindergarten at Ross public school. He is an unique individual and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at 18 months of age. His general demeanor is content, playful, and curious. He is non-verbal but says a few words and will hand lead persons to his wants or needs. My husband and I are both shift workers, which means our schedules vary week to week. Because our working hours are not consistent, we need a care provider who is flexible in the mornings before school and in the afternoon when school lets out. On occasion, care may be needed in the late evening and on the weekend if our schedules overlap. Also, we might not need care every day depending on our schedules. We require a care provider who is patient, accepts people with disabilities, attentive, and makes the safety for our son a priority. We are open to hiring a student who is attending post-secondary with an interest in early childhood education or teaching. We are seeking an individual who would like the opportunity to care for a child with a developmental disorder and is willing to take on a more challenging responsibility than typically seen with other childminding positions. Note: We are looking for a childminder in Welland or within close proximity (Niagara Region).
