What will you do at Ciena?

As a Full-Stack Intern Application Developer, you will observe, learn and support the development & configuration of custom applications (using C#, .net core, vb .net etc.) in Microsoft Azure cloud (IaaS and PaaS). You will be working closely with our business users and the Agile development team to deliver IT solutions. Our interns are expected to appreciate a team environment, and exhibit willingness and eagerness to learn, participate and contribute. You will be exposed to development with the latest GAI technologies such as Azure GPT Services, Custom GAI Chat Application, etc.

Skill Exposure and Experience:

  • Exposure to Agile development process along with secure DevOps pipelines.
  • Exposure to front-end, middle tier and back-end development using an industry standard development platform (C#, .net Core, vb .net, Angular, HTML, Javascript, Transact SQL, Azure cloud, etc.)
  • Knowledge and Experience around Test Driven Development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of latest developments in the GAI space is a plus.

Required Education:

  • Candidate must be working on a bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Sciences or related field
  • Candidate must have demonstrated technical ability through projects and curriculum.

Responsibilities: A successful candidate will perform following duties on day to day basis.

  • Work under the guidance of a lead developer.
  • Create and maintain Jira stories for all the work being done.
  • Participate in Story grooming sessions with the Ciena business prime.
  • Write code to complete work identified in Jira stories. Both, Front-end and Back-end development as needed.
  • Write test cases for any development work performed.
  • Perform and support testing activities.
  • Work with Ciena Lead to deploy the code into production.
  • Track progress using Jira dashboard.
  • Any other assigned tasks as required by the lead
