We are an easy-going family looking for a trustworthy and health-conscious nanny for ongoing, part-time care for our amazing primary school aged child. He and we have some health needs that require some minor accommodations. We are flexible with time, but the majority would be during weekday day times - usually half days, and be 20hrs a week (maybe more). Our child currently is enrolled in a distributed learning school. As an experienced nanny, you should: * Have child CPR and first aid certification for our peace of mind * Be a nonsmoker who does not drink excessively or do any recreational drugs * Agree to a standard background/criminal check that agencies use for anyone working with children * Although we are not looking for a tutor, any educational experience for elementary ages is a bonus. * Your own car is needed - although driving is not necessary, we prefer you have a safe driving record, and your own vehicle and not relying on public transportation * This job is probably not suitable to anyone with children in school because being unmasked in areas of significant exposure like schools is too risky for us. The job duties include: * Play and caring for our mature but fun, elementary aged child * Ensuring that he focuses on his schoolwork during class times (that we will provide everything set up and ready) and attends his scheduled online classes * Occasional snack or meal prep for him (no cooking we will have everything ready for you to heat up if needed). * Light cleanup of clutter or toys after play with him * Outdoor backyard, trail or park exercise & supervised play with him * Upkeep cleaning of a separate downstairs bathroom used solely by you * Communicate well and regularly with parents when needed We are immunocompromised and thus extremely vulnerable to getting very sick from any outside infections. We are easy to work with, though we do have some health issues, and cold / Covid infections are quite dangerous to us - but we can manage the risk if the nanny is open to accommodating us. So we require the nanny to: * Be fully up to date with all Covid-19 vaccinations and provide proof * Mask with well fitted N95 or better masks (that we will provide) at all times with the child and in the house. * Be extremely honest and transparent about potential exposures, letting us know even of any mild symptoms before attending a babysitting session. We are open to working out a reasonable number of paid sick days. * Be open to proper, rapid Covid testing that you share results with us prior to each day’s work session - positive tests mean sick day - we will provide tests and a BONUS $ TIP every time you test. (In case you didn’t know > 50% of all Covid infections are transmitted by people without noticeable symptoms.) More about us: * Dad works from home in a private office upstairs away from living area * Mom is disabled and will likely be resting leaving you with the child * We really need the help and would very much value you as a key partner in our family and helping us with our child safely. This live-out position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25.00, but we are open to some negotiation on rate for candidates very receptive to our special needs.
