Reporting to the Team Lead, Operations Training, the Senior Operations Procedure Program Advisor manages and oversees the development and maintenance of all LUC operating procedures and is responsible to maintain the program.

This position provides an essential resource to ensure that all operating procedures are kept current and valid. This addresses the critical focus on process safety recognized by regulators, insurance underwriters, and our key stakeholders and the intent of our COIMS culture. It also plays an integral role in the continuous improvement and maintenance of the culture around procedures exhibited by World Class organizations.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

  • This is a full-time employee position working Monday to Friday

What you'll do:

  • Identify and evaluate procedure review triggers such as MOCs, incident investigations and PHAs.

  • Gather and validate data to revise and update procedures.

  • Incorporate relevant feedback from the review process into the procedure.

  • Initiate the procedure approval process.

  • Coach and mentor others in methods of gathering, reviewing, and writing procedures.

  • Responsible for effective document control and communication regarding procedures

  • Complies with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this Position's responsibilities.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Technical and/or Procedure Writing training position within a Refinery or Upgrader

  • Third class Power Engineering certification considered an asset.

  • Advanced word processing and technical writing skills

  • Proven facilitation skills

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
