As a leading childcare service, we are committed to supporting children's brain development with a team of certified teachers and professionals.


Position: Education Assistant

As an Education Assistant, you will collaborate with therapists, educators, and parents to implement programs for children receiving PUF and M/M funding. Your role will be crucial in supporting children in therapeutic and educational activities, fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement personalized intervention plans for children receiving PUF and M/M funding.
  • Provide hands-on support during therapy sessions and educational activities.
  • Monitor and document children's progress.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt materials to meet each child's needs.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers.
  • Attend team meetings and professional development opportunities.


Requirements:

  • One year of experience and/or education in child development and behaviour.
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles, intervention strategies, and evidence-based practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering rapport with children, parents, and team members.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta driver's license and access to a personal vehicle, with willingness to commute between different Fueling Brains centers (mileage reimbursed).
  • Current police clearance (from the last 6 months) and updated Child Intervention Record Check required.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.


Work Environment Requirements:

  • Occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work-related items weighing less than 40 pounds.
  • Regular use of hands to handle or control objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Potential for prolonged or irregular working hours.
  • Exposure to noisy and/or disruptive student behavior, as well as potential exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood illnesses.
