What you will do

The Maintenance Electrical Planner ensures the identified work from PMs and other identified work is planned with necessary safety, work instructions and estimated durations using our CMMS to provide the workorders so the trades can perform the work that is scheduled by planning department. They will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the PMs, Job Plans, maintaining Assets Hierarchy based on established standards as established by the Center of Excellence (C of E). They are responsible for work order accuracy which will contribute to maximizing the utilization of department resources while providing effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs ensuring system and equipment reliability.

  • Establish and maintain the PM frequency and Job Plan details (Safety, Tasks, Crafts and estimated Time, Sequence of tasks ) for all required Planned Preventative Work (electrical and mechanical) for assets based on OEM recommendations and Trades work experience in PM module in Maximo CMMS.

  • Establish the required craft, estimated time to repair, access requirements Production or Maintenance Window access for maintenance work, total job duration for workorders and PMs that can be planned and scheduled.

  • Maintain Asset hierarchy in Maximo by entering new assets and updating status to reflect correct current state (operating, or decommissioned assets as needed) for CMMS accuracy.

  • Ensure parts/materials are available to complete work order and prioritize work orders prior to sending to the Scheduler to ensure optimal utilization of resources.

  • Work with department staff (Trades and Supervisors) and internal customers to define all electrical and mechanical correctives or other planned maintenance work, including small projects as required to be planned.

  • Retain services of contractors to perform work as authorized by Maintenance Manager (Annual Racking Inspections, Generator PM and Inspection, Annual Power station Maintenance)

  • Work with ESA inspector to maintain electrical standards are met and maintained.

  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) reports to analyze planning and scheduling of planned work and maintaining data integrity by maintaining all inputs.

  • Work with Asset Reliability Team to collaborate efforts for equipment reliability through meetings, assessments and workshops as needed as Planning SME

  • Exercise due diligence in planning work to comply with legislated compliance and code standards, i.e., electrical code, fire code and building code and insurance requirements.

  • Review weekly and monthly reports (e.g., manpower utilization, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failure (MTBF), work order backlog, PM Compliance, Planned versus Unplanned maintenance, etc.)

  • Perform supporting function during Scheduler and Mobile Planner absences (Vacation, Training etc..

What you bring

  • Holds any of the following certificates or equivalent educational degree or diploma:

    • Certificate of Qualification: Ontario #442A Industrial Electrician, and/or #309A Construction/Maintenance Electrician

    • Technology Diploma (Electrical Engineering Technology)

    • B.A.Sc Engineering (electrical, mechanical)

  • 3 + years maintenance experience in DCs and planning specific experience preferred.

  • Strong electrical/ mechanical skills as applied to production equipment.

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of maintenance planning techniques in all areas of maintenance planning.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and past historical use of MAXIMO.

  • Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems and knowledge of Microsoft application and Adobe.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel)

  • Demonstrated people skills combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with various individuals in the organization (e.g., Trades, Supervisors, Managers, Vendors, Machine Operators, etc.)

  • Flexible and able to work in an ever-changing environment as needed.

  • License holder P.Eng (PEO), Certified Technologist (OACETT)

  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP)
