Tailings EIT

Position Description:

Supporting Tailings Engineer with Tailings related projects, Dam inspections, testing, sampling, and entering data. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Tailings Engineer, help ensure the facility is in compliance with GISTM, MAC and CDA guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) including the Tailings Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance Manual (OMS) to comply with regulation requirements and commitments. Conducting regular piezometer, settlement plates, slope inclinometers and water level readings, and GPS/drone field work readings, inputting data into spreadsheets, and reporting. Drilling and test pitting programs Tailings pond sampling programs Survey and GPS/LiDAR drone field work Instrumentation data and equipment management Other field and office assignments

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Mining/Geological Engineering or related engineering field from an accredited curriculum is required. Candidates with a combination of a Mining or Civil Technology Diploma and relevant experience may also be considered. Industry experience, preferably mining or heavy civil earthworks construction is considered an asset. Proficient with MS Office software. Experience with related engineering software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GoldSim, Muck 3D etc.) is an asset. Experience with geotechnical materials sampling, laboratory, and field quality control testing methods Experience using GPS, Drones, and CAD systems is considered an asset. QA/QC experience for large earthworks projects would be considered an asset. Strong computer skills, ArcGIS, MS Office skills would be desirable. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing to a diverse audience
