What is the opportunity?

In this position, you will contribute to the maintenance of an effective first line operational risk management program within assigned areas of responsibility of Investor Service business line. You will work closely with first line business partners to identify, document and resolve risk issues and implement operational risk framework tools.

What will you do?

  • Employ an entrepreneurial approach for assigned areas of responsibility to manage operational risk. Builds key relationships and regular touchpoints.
  • Develop and implement operational risk management processes to better manage, measure, monitor, and report operational risk exposures within assigned areas.
  • Research and evaluate best practices for investment organizations and business activities to control various risks; research all non-financial risk management policies and procedures, limits, and guidelines.
  • Develops tools and metrics and performs analysis to report, monitor, measure, and manage various aspects of risk exposures.
  • Develops and implements processes, tools and techniques to evaluate and validate risks.
  • Partners with 1A functions to understand risk events, issues and facilitates remediation by engaging stakeholders. Performs deep dive around significant risk events and exposures and develops action plans in consultation with 1As. Follow up with finance for financial treatment (GL impact recording)
  • Implements and execute various operational risk tools including RCSAs, Risk Acceptances, KRIs, thematic reviews, etc.
  • Perform the controls assessments in line with ICMP Policy.
  • Support Change Risk Management activities (IRPs, NBC proposals, applicable ERs) within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Perform specifically assigned tasks (example: Client due diligence, GL reconciliation, training material development, ad-hoc business requests, etc.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of businesses with particular emphasis on the control environment
  • Knowledge of operational risk and control management industry best practices
