Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a Carpenter to join our Maintenance team. This full-time position is responsible for all aspects of carpentry work in an industrial environment.

Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of performing in a highly technical and flexible work environment. The ideal candidate for this position is a safety-conscious team player who possesses outstanding organizational and communication skills and has strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

· General carpentry and construction work

· Erecting scaffolding, safe-way and tube and clamp

· Framing

· Repair and renovation work

· Form Work

· Organizing and planning to prioritize work

· Measuring, cutting and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes

· Fitting and installing trim, doors and hardware, stairs, molding and finish work and an eye for detail

· Examining plans, drawings and specifications

· Assisting other trades people as required

· Estimating supplies, materials and labour

Experience/Education:

· Grade XII and a completion of Carpentry Certificate of Trade (Red Seal)

· Minimum 5 years' recent carpentry trade experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

· Scaffold Certification

· Solid computer skills

· Painting skills would be an asset

· Insulating equipment and piping systems is an asset

Compensation: Pay rate per Collective Agreement. Port Hawkesbury Paper offers competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package, and a challenging, rewarding work environment.
