Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and maintaining financial records
  • Posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
  • Preparing trial balances and maintaining general ledger
  • USD accounts payable along with accounts receivable backup
  • Managing both trailer and parts inventories
  • Calculating depreciation, prepaid expense and other month end entries
  • Year end preparation
  • Interpreting and applying accounting policies, rules and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance
  • Calculating and preparing payroll, supplier invoices, government remittances as well as other expenditures
  • Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers compensation and other government documents
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports as needed

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Degree or diploma in accounting preferred
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and remittance requirements
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Reliable and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Bilingualism is a plus
