About the Role

The Supervisor is responsible to ensure all requirements associated with the successful fabrication of product. This is facilitated through Production Supervisors, Lead hands and manufacturing personnel on more than one shift. The Supervisor oversees the tooling operations and supports management, supervisors, and production personnel by acting as a liaison in matters regarding policy application, employee relations, and continuous improvement for processes and productivity. This position carries direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibility for approximately 25- 45+ employees.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective communications/interaction with all other Departments, including but not limited to engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, HR and material control support groups in order to achieve established targets.

  • Conduct all business activity in a professional manner consistent with the positive leadership practices of building trust, empowerment, and competitiveness, with emphasis on personal responsibility.

  • Plans and directs the utilization and use of all equipment and manpower to achieve the most effective results.

  • Be responsible and accountable for meeting Presstran and departmental targets and goals

  • Monitors and adjusts inventory balances as required, investigates inventory problems and implements solution to source.

  • Participates in personnel requirements planning, overtime scheduling, co-ordinating layoffs, etc.

  • Co-ordinates preventative maintenance with production/maintenance depts. and production planners

  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the department budget

  • Assists with capacity planning and press loading to meet future objectives

  • Co-ordinates the movement of quarantine material/parts/scrap upon disposition by material buyer/quality assurance

Who we are looking for

Someone Who:

  • Possess human relations skills and maturity of judgement

  • Possess time management, leadership, communication, organizational and presentation skills

Your preferred qualifications

  • Equivalent to completion of specialized courses normally taught at community or specialized colleges consisting of more than 2 academic years.

  • Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience in industrial environment

  • Skill gained by experience - over 3 years
