Senior Software Developer

About This Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Writes new software, makes modifications to existing software, or integrates software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by business teams for Reuters.
  • Executes on provided design
  • Deliver new systems using AWS and its capabilities with excellent proficiency in Java, and Python. Full-stack development.
  • Contribute to the creation of high-level and component-level design. You may also lead the design activities for less complex components.
  • Communicate with product and business teams to gather and analyze the business requirement and translate it into technical design and prepare functional/technical specification documents.
  • Work together with the Quality Assurance team to prepare test plans/test cases and define test execution methodology and perform tests. Identify and fix any defects.
  • Understand challenges pose by integration projects.
  • Provide development team with technical subject matter expertise and work with the team (Architects, other Tech Leads and Systems Analysts) to ensure development activities are aligned with scope, schedule, priority, and business objective.
  • Responsible for establishing best practices in services development, integration of applications and govern detailed design.

About You

To be a Software Developer on our team, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of background in software development with Java &/or Python technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in OOA and OO Design and Development using Design Patterns
  • 3+ years of background in software development using AWS capabilities like S3, lambdas, step functions, cloud formation etc..
  • 1+ years of experience with XML, Node.JS technologies
  • Experience in working with reusable components and Design Systems and able to structure and build reusable libraries, templates and components for maximum speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Be comfortable working as a self-starter, individually or in a small team, sharing responsibilities and communicating with non-technical users.
  • Good planning and self-management skills, reporting on risks and mitigations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for business requirements gathering.
