The Department of Geriatrics in Fraser Health is seeking a Geriatrician to join a diverse group of geriatricians and care of the elderly physicians throughout Fraser Health. Our hospitals are affiliated with the University of British Columbia and offer opportunities for clinical practice, as well as teaching and academic research.

Located at the delta of the Fraser River, Delta is surrounded by water on 3 sides and has a strong agricultural foundation. A quiet, safe neighbourhood surrounded by nature, Delta is ideal for outdoor living with many beautiful parks and scenic trails. Delta Hospital is a community hospital with primary, secondary, and some specialty services.

The successful candidate will be working with our current geriatrician to expand existing geriatric services at a site with an already active specialized seniors clinic with interdisciplinary geriatric team support and an inpatient consultation service. This is a newly funded part time permanent position (0.5-0.6 FTE, negotiable) and involves consultative inpatient activities at Delta Hospital and ambulatory practice. There is no expected weekend or evening call. The successful candidate will be expected to join our current geriatrician in Delta and contribute to academic and teaching components of the Service. There is also the opportunity to work on a part-time basis or in conjunction with other nearby communities.

Qualifications:

Eligibility for or active FRCPC Geriatric MedicineEligibility for or active full license with CPSBCStrong collaborative interpersonal and inter-disciplinary skillsEligibility to apply for a clinical faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia.

Remuneration:

Ministry of Health Alternate Payment Plan service contract model.

Full Time/Part Time/Locum/Temporary: Part time permanent to full time permanent (0.5 – 0.6 FTE)
