The Senior Analyst, Business Systems will initiate, execute and support the development of new and revised business processes and business requirements for the implementation of technology solutions to support the OH programs that the Product Management & Delivery (Customer Value & Products) group provides service to. The Senior Analyst, Business Systems will engage program sponsors, Digital Excellence in Health (DxH) partners and external stakeholders; such as the Ministry of Health, hospitals and clinical users across the province to ensure their interests are considered in the development of business requirements and information technology solutions. In addition to expert communication skills, this role is technical and requires both a strong IT and analytical acumen.

Here is what you will be doing:

Work with business (program) and IT partners to implement change and drive improvements

Perform in an Agile environment; document use cases and business requirements

Facilitate user sessions and meetings with clear agendas; minutes and follow up

Prepare feasibility studies; develop cost benefit analysis, including alternatives and recommendations

Perform gap analysis; build process flows of current and future state to support resulting solutions

Meet project deadlines and schedules; help drive momentum through effective elicitation of requirements and adaptive strategies to obtain stakeholder input

Lead and provide guidance to other BAs supporting initiatives with multiple requirement streams

Train and support business and clinical staff on the use and integration of technology with business processes

Prepare/maintain system documentation, user guides, process maps, operations documents and training manuals

Provide business and technical content in the assembly of test plans

Facilitate and support business and clinical participation in the execution of test plans

Develop stakeholder engagement plans, reports, templates, and tools to support business operations

Support quality initiatives and reviews; suggest areas for improvement in internal processes, as well as possible solutions

Provide operational support for issue resolution and service request management; when needed, perform root cause analysis; identify improvements, simplify processes and document them

Ability to prioritize and manage on-going and multiple requests and system requirements to meet OH goals

Develop product and HL7 subject matter expertise

Bring expertise to other teams and share knowledge while on assignment

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role supporting information technology projects

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills

Expert knowledge and experience working with advanced business analysis methodologies, best practices and tools

Knowledge of emerging IT trends and new directions in healthcare; experience in related business process re-engineering and the development of business strategies

Knowledge of privacy and security legislation; experience on assignments involving PHIPA and industry best practice in the Ontario healthcare sector

Minimum 5 years experience collecting and documenting requirements for a wide range of technical solutions, demonstrating adept technical acumen

Expert analytical skills; conceptual thinker with advanced problem solving and decision-making skills, highly motivated and resourceful to perform with limited supervision

Demonstrated ability to elicit and interpret business requirements; posing specific questions through interview and workshop processes

Adept verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to grasp new ideas and solutions, and communicate effectively with colleagues (program and technical staff) and end users.

Experience with SQL reporting and strong knowledge of HL7 principles, preferably FHIR.

Ability to work under pressure, lead others and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

A work ethic of dependability through punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability to perform as an efficient, detail-oriented team player

Excellent presentation skills complimented by a successful track record in building credibility and creating consensus

Must be able to professionally interact with executives, senior program leads and value stream partners
