Modern Niagara is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team in Vaughan ON. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for the wiring and control systems associated with HVAC, plumbing, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and other mechanical installations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, BAS, and relevant industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and related documents. Perform detailed take-offs of mechanical wiring and control components. Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Prepare and present cost estimate reports and summaries to management and clients. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete estimates. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and verify pricing information. Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, local codes, and company policies. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies related to mechanical systems, wiring, and BAS. Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and related documentation. Generate regular reports on estimating activities, project statuses, and cost variances.Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in estimating for Electrical systems, with a focus on wiring, controls, and BAS. Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications. Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project). In-depth understanding of integration between electrical components, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems Expertise with electrical wiring practices, control systems, and BAS. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
