Reporting to the Risk Manager, the Senior Risk Analyst plays an integral role in supporting implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program.
Providing risk management advisory services and support to Ontario Health's health system, corporate and regional portfolios on risk management processes, strategies and operations to drive risk-informed decision-making.
Facilitating the development of processes within the ERM Program Office and portfolio operations to strengthen Ontario Health's risk culture by building risk management capacity and capabilities and ensuring alignment with ERM objectives across the organization.
Leading stakeholder engagement and delivering risk reporting for a variety of key stakeholders, providing them with a line of sight into Ontario Health's most significant risks, a clear accountability of those risks, and for monitoring and managing mitigation strategies to bring the risks to an acceptable level of risk tolerance.
Advancing implementation of Ontario Health's Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework.
Here is what you will be doing:
Provide strategic leadership and be a subject matter expert to advise on Ontario Health's ERM framework to ensure effective ERM for the organization. Work closely with internal stakeholders to influence risk management processes including risk identification and development of mitigation strategies.
Engage risk leads and subject matter experts across the health system, corporate and regional portfolios to lead and coordinate quarterly risk reporting processes and prepare reports and analyses for stakeholders including the Board, Ministry and the Senior Leadership Team.
Analyze, identify and provide options and recommendations on risks suitable for collaboration or consolidation across portfolios and facilitate these discussions to coordinate an enterprise approach.
Lead capacity, capability and maturity assessments of the ERM Program Office and portfolios and prepare gap analyses in support of internal audit and operating model recommendations.
Provide technical leadership and manage key aspects of risk management tool implementation to automate and streamline reporting processes.
Facilitate Business Continuity Management (BCM) efforts, including contributing to the development and maturation of an enterprise BCM framework and conducting business impact assessments across portfolios. Support business continuity planning within the context of the enterprise BCM framework.
Conduct environmental scans on emerging and global risks that may impact Ontario Health's ability to achieve its strategic priorities. Review, summarize and analyze ERM literature, studies, reports, policy papers and other written materials.
Develop and sustain collaborative working relationships, contribute to program committees and project teams. Support the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communications plans on risk management across the organization, including developing and delivering risk management training to staff.
Translate risk management concepts and complex ideas into reports/presentations for a variety of audiences and activities.
Drive change management by coordinating the consultation process and aligning risk reporting with other corporate reporting requirements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
Support compliance management processes, including but not limited to the Annual Certificate of Attestation (CoA) process.
Maintain the document repository and shared digital workspaces for the ERM Program.
Take initiative and work independently to produce recommendations on identified opportunities for improved efficiencies and to close knowledge gaps within ERM Program areas.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
An Undergraduate Degree in Business / Health Administration, Commerce, IT, Information Management, or related degree(s).
A minimum of four (4) years' experience in an analyst role in the areas of risk management or technology or health management.
Risk management certification (e.g., Canadian Risk Management designation) is an asset.
Experience in a governance or regulatory role is an asset.
Experience with program design and implementation is an asset.
Experience with Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools is an asset.
Work experience in health care is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills
Public sector risk management skills and experience, including knowledge of generally accepted risk management principles, practices, and methodologies.
Knowledge of Ontario Health's strategic priorities, policies, key initiatives, and relevant legislation.
General knowledge of and genuine interest in Ontario's health care system.
Knowledge of business and operating planning processes, and OPS reporting requirements is an asset.
Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and skilled at presenting complex concepts clearly and effectively for a variety of audiences.
Proven ability to create detailed analysis, and effectively communicate assessment reports and summaries of findings on risks to support decision-making by senior leaders.
Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust, credibility and respect and to facilitate group consensus and decision-making.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of an inter-professional team.
Proven ability to manage concurrent projects, with strict deadlines and competing priorities.
Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite of products including O365, MS Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
