What you will do

The Retail Insights Analyst will be responsible for integrating data across domains (customer, digital, store operations, product, and more) into automated processes, analytical marts, and consumable formats for the business. They will use analytical techniques to discover patterns and insights that arm the store operations team with actionable intelligence for key strategic initiatives.

  • Be relied upon as an expert of store operations data and how they tie back to business profitability.

  • Collaborate with many teams in to unlock new / improved data & analytics that drive common objectives.

  • Build predictive models forecasting sales, expenses, and business activities to improve instore execution and profitability.

  • Support the business with a fact-based ad-hoc analysis - leveraging statistical methods where possible.

  • Be an Automation Champion - developing self serve analytics that leverages workflow tools and AI to drive value generating activities in our +200 stores.

  • Contribute to the development of analytical data marts that accelerate the analytical process.


What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics-based environment (retail experience preferred but not required)

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex business environment and break it down into a plan of action.

  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Excel (experience with DAX and Powerpivot considered an asset)

  • Working Knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and integration

  • Working Knowledge in interest in BI tools such as PowerBI, and/or Tableau

  • Knowledge of database management, information management, and data mart design along with hands-on experience using data analysis / workflow tools such as Knime or Alteryx is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Python or other coding languages and experience with Azure Synapse is considered an asset.
