We are seeking a Junior Accountant to assist with a range of accounting tasks, including preparing and compiling the monthly financial scorecard, recording journal entries, analyzing budget variances, and providing insights on month-end matters. Additional responsibilities include reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing audit documentation at year-end. This role will also support the annual budgeting process and take on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities
Record and input journal entries while applying thorough review and examination procedures.
Contribute to the drafting and preparation of financial statements.
Reconcile general ledger accounts throughout and after the month-end close, and compile month-end financial reports and analyses.
Create and review monthly financial scorecards, identifying key trends and performance insights.
Collaborate with accounting team members to examine budget variances, resolve discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
Assist in the budgeting process by preparing and analyzing data required for budget planning and development.
Support the coordination and execution of annual audits by organizing documentation, including invoices and other financial records.
Verify the accuracy of sales tax on purchases and sales to ensure compliance with regulations.
Oversee the input and management of accounts payable, including investigating and resolving variances across multiple locations.
Assist in developing and refining internal controls and accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Manage daily bank deposit scanning, ensuring all transactions are promptly and accurately entered into the system.
Utilize the Mincron system to run and evaluate queries supporting inventory control analysis and reporting.
Generate various reports and spreadsheets as needed for financial analysis and decision-making.
Participate in planning and conducting physical inventory counts.
Support and comply with the companyâs Health and Safety Program by completing necessary training and following safety guidelines.
Take on other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
At least 18 months of experience working in an accounting setting.
A combination of relevant education and hands-on experience will be considered.
Actively working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Highly accurate with a strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with solid mathematical skills.
A self-motivated individual who is well-organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and execute plans effectively.
Able to manage priorities and meet goals independently with minimal oversight.
