As part of our Personal Lines Pricing Transformation team, you will collaborate with our Technical Pricing, Street Pricing, Data Science, and Information Technology teams to develop groundbreaking pricing tools and models, accelerating the pace of our delivery.
We seek a dynamic, experienced Actuarial Manager who is motivated, analytical and thrives in intellectually stimulating environments. This role involves managing the Technical Indication Model (TIM) project, aimed at redefining, and operationalizing the rate indication process across over 50 lines of business. The successful candidate will become the owner of this transformational initiative, bridging the gap between business requirements, model design, code development, user acceptance, and iterative releases, ensuring our delivery aligns with where the business values are.

What you'll do:
- Lead the Technical Indication Model (TIM) initiative, overseeing the design, development, communication, maintenance, and enhancement of the rate indication model
- Ensure alignment with business objectives and strategies. Develop a deep understanding of business context to formulate criteria and constraints for model development
- Translate sophisticated actuarial techniques and business requirements into actionable technical instructions for Python developers
- Lead project delivery and workflow design to make it efficient, judicious, and scalable. Work optimally within a multi-disciplinary team, including developers and actuaries, to deliver the highest possible value
- Effectively influence partners in other teams and hold them accountable for the deliverables. Be able to constructively challenge each other in the spirit of achieving the best result for Aviva
- Results Communication, clearly explain progress, challenges, options, and considerations to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the rate indication model and related processes, build a roadmap for iterative development
- Mentor junior members of the team and direct their day-to-day activities. Be able to delegate and nurture competence in junior staff
- Share knowledge and insights with the broader pricing team. Increase the level of modeling proficiency and Python knowledge among the staff
What you'll bring:
- ACAS/ACIA
- 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience, 2+ years of rate indication experience
- Strong ownership of work, ability to understand business requirements and turn them into work planning
- Effective project management skills, ruthless prioritization, and re-alignment with evolving business priorities
- Ability to communicate well with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Strong Python programming skills, managerial experience in Python or SAS coding an asset
- Ability to build consensus and influence effectively. Desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and insightful analysis.
