Journeyman Electrician - UG

Position Description:

Reporting to the Underground Electrical Supervisor the successful candidate will be accountable for all electrical infrastructure on site.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to maintenance plans, ensuring availability of manpower, equipment, and resources. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and personnel efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems and challenges. Complete all required housekeeping audits. Attend daily safety meetings to communicate safety instruction, information and gather concerns to be addressed. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Company Policies and Standards. Report and investigate hazards, implement remedial actions promptly. Work within the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance plans. Ability, skills, and knowledge to work with medium and high voltages. Understand technical components of the job to complete tasks safely with support from other departments. Promote learning and knowledge sharing within the team. Complete operational checks monitoring quality and productivity ensuring established standards are met. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Superintendent, and employees.

Qualifications:
Electrical License in the Province of Ontario Working knowledge of 13.8KV, 4160V systems Knowledge of applying stress cones and 13.8kV splices Experience working with Kone Cranes Experience working around UG jaw crushers Experience with Benshaw soft starters Experience with Yaskawa VFD Knowledge of networking systems Basic UG and Surface Common Core preferred, with UG required Knowledgeable in site and department operating procedures considered an asset Ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction Demonstrate applicable ethics and due diligence Communication leadership and team building skills Strong prioritization, organization and reasoning skills High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability Sound analytical thinking, planning, and execution of skills Some ACAD experience to read and make small updates SAP knowledge would be an asset or willingness to learn and use the program What We Can Offer You
