The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing efficient and professional technical and commercial support to internal and external customers for our ES-Commercial Purification and Disinfection products business within the industrial and municipal industries. The person in this role will collaborate with our commercial sales and other internal teams to prepare proposals to support the sales organisation in selling the company's products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and respond to internal and external customer inquiries (technical requests, product availability, pricing, etc.) by reviewing specifications, drawings and other documents to prepare budgets, bids, or proposalsPrepare preliminary equipment designs including P&ID's and equipment layouts. Work with technical teams as requiredPrepare detailed budget proposals and/or contract proposals/bids by gathering details and compiling data to estimate all engineering and production costs according to customer specifications including:Prepare sales level equipment specifications and data and collaborate with the procurement department to develop material costs of a projectDetermine material, assembly and commissioning estimates utilising quotations, vendor contact, catalogues, cost standards and historical dataDetermine freight cost to the jobsite from the expected fabrication or ex-works locationWork in conjunction with Supply Chain on schedule and forecastingEstablish and maintain files and records on cost of equipment, products, and componentsDevelop and maintain files and records of specifications and cost standards of equipment, products and componentsPrepare documentation and participate in contract kickoff meetings to transfer projects to the execution group
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors in EngineeringAt least 5 years work experience in an organisation providing equipment and solutions, preferably to municipalities, industrial customers, consulting engineers, and contractorsKnowledge of water treatment industryUnderstanding of specifications and addendums and translating them from feasibility concept, design to equipment supply, startup, commissioningEstimator experience in heavy construction or for an equipment manufacturer
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work independently and in teamsUnderstanding of project bid and estimating processUnderstanding of treatment systems, electrical systems and controlsDemonstrated strong attention to detailExcellent understanding of mechanical equipment and engineering fundamentalsStrong water treatment or manufacturing environment knowledgeAble to read P&IDs, single line diagrams and construction drawingsCapable of working independently, prioritising, multi-tasking, and organisingAbility to set goals and meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening
Key Characteristics
