Employment Status Part Time Employment Type Regular Job Summary Reporting the Director, Learning Commons & Academic Success Centre, the Library Technician - Ancillary Services is responsible for administering interlibrary loan (ILL) services and supporting various other services within the department. This role also assists in other areas such as technical services and the library services desk. Specific Duties • Maintain interlibrary loan borrowing and lending services including researching, ordering, receiving, processing, scanning, and shipping materials.
• Verify interlibrary loan invoices and keep records and statistics of lender/borrower activities.
• Prepare monthly and annual activity reports for inter library loan activities.
• Provides ancillary services to the department which includes updating library webpages (e.g. revising text, uploading documents or multimedia), responding to inquiries through the library's general email address, and assisting with digitization projects.
• Distribute books and other learning resources to regional campuses and tracking and following up on loans.
• Distribute media and other resources to distance students or faculty.
• Assist with inventories at regional campuses and work with librarians on technical services projects to compile reports of missing and lost items from each region.
• Create, maintain, and deploy promotional materials for digital signage, print flyers or handouts.
• Collect, maintain, and report usage statistics related to online electronic resource subscriptions.
• Schedule and support faculty video requests for classroom showings.
• Serves as a liaison between regional network and department Librarians.
• Provide technical services support as required.
• Provide coverage support on the Library Services Desk as required.
• You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.
• You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Director. Skills & Qualifications • Recognized two (2 ) year diploma in Library and Information Technology or related field of study
• 1 year or more experience in library services, preferably in circulation or technical services

• Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and teamwork
• Ability to deal well with the public
• Ability to prioritize tasks, interpret library policies/procedures, work independently
• Good organizational skills.
• Computer experience required (for example: library systems, word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software, and other online applications)
• Proficiency in touch typing is essential for this role, as it enables efficient and accurate data entry and communication. Typing speed of 40 wpm preferred.
• Adaptability and flexibility in managing diverse and changing tasks and environments
• Willingness to learn new technologies and skills to stay current in the field
• Ability to respond effectively to changes in library services, policies, and user needs
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively in dynamic situations
• Familiarity with desktop publishing is preferred.
