Join our Asset Recovery team as a Senior Material Handler at ATCO, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our material lifecycle, focusing on sustainability and efficiency.

What You Get to Do:

  • Oversee the recovery, processing, and redistribution of surplus or outdated materials and equipment, aligning with company sustainability goals.
  • Manage the disposal of materials and equipment in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to assess asset recovery needs and implement effective recovery strategies.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and control by conducting thorough cycle counts and audits to identify discrepancies and optimize inventory levels.
  • Lead the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform maintenance checks and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other material handling devices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in asset recovery processes by developing and implementing new procedures that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Provide support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding material requests, ensuring timely and accurate service.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of an asset recovery database to track materials throughout their lifecycle.
  • Facilitate training sessions for new staff and volunteers in proper asset recovery techniques and safety protocols.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED with further certification in asset management or materials handling preferred.
  • A valid Alberta driver's license, with a clean driving record.
  • At least three (3) years of related experience in a warehousing environment; specifically in asset recovery or a related field.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards related to waste management and recycling.
  • Certification as electric forklift operator, Standard First Aid, TDG, and WHMIS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.
