KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual) GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.

Summary

Perform all machining and material handling functions in a safe manner to achieve the best quality and productivity results.

Major responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

· Ensure a safe environment for workers, staff and visitors. Reporting results with an optimal level of efficiency.

· Be safety conscious wearing safety equipment as prescribed by Plant Safety Rules and working in a safe manner.

· Ensure work areas comply with proper housekeeping and safety procedures at all times.

· Follow routing instructions to ISO standards.

· Be highly conscious of quality and the requirements of ISO standards through training and knowledge of General Departmental procedures. Must also have the ability to take corrective action as required should quality problems occur including placing the work on hold. Stop, Call, Wait.

· Maintain accurate record of required information on operator work sheets by heat numbers.

· Advise supervisor of defective equipment and parts without delay.

· Must be able to read and interpret drawings and procedures, determine correct speed and feed for work requiring complex skill.

· Design / construct jigs and fixtures.

· Ability to repair, adjust and lubricate machinery.

· Operate all machines to close tolerances within minimum direction.

· Be aware and knowledgeable in safe material handling techniques and be conversant in the safe operation of all material handling equipment.

· Perform other related tasks and functions as required relative to the nature of the position.

Education, Training and Experience

· Minimum Grade 12 education required.

· Certificate of Qualification in a recognized apprenticeship in the Machining Trade.

· Related Training Certificates considered an asset.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Machining department

· Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.

· Demonstrated competency with machine repair and maintenance systems.

· Ability to use overhead cranes, jib hoists moving product as required.

· Understanding of machine surface requirements and tolerances.

· Demonstrate proficient computer skills, include Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).

Hourly Wage Rate:

$35.26 / hour (Current 2023 rate)

Shift Premium

Second Shift 3pm – 11pm: $1.15

Third Shift 11pm – 7am: $1.40

Benefits:

Full benefits, including EFAP available from first day of hire.

Defined Contribution Pension Plan begins after successful completing 90 worked day probationary period

All PPE including safety boots paid for by the Company
