Intermediate Electrical Engineer

The Buildings and Facilities group in Vancouver provide mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the Commercial, Healthcare, Light Industrial, Municipal , Institutional, Recreational, and Multi-residential market. Our clients and projects and varied and diverse. The office is a high energy workspace where we work closely as a team to meet the requirements and deadlines of our clients.
Provide electrical systems design leadership and project management for design mandates throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop strategies to Identify and manage project risks and potential liabilities. Lead and participate in site surveys of existing electrical building systems.
Lead and actively participate in, and document, meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants. Review tender submissions and quotations from contractors. Work with contractors to quickly resolve onsite issues and ensure contractor’s conformance to design requirements.
Lead the preparation of electrical specifications. Prepare design briefs, schematics, project documents and perform all required engineering calculations.
Lead production all required engineering documents in schematic design, design development and working drawings. Ensure design products meet required quality standards. Support and work in collaboration with other team members to complete projects on time and on budget. Supervise, mentor and train junior designers and CAD operators.

University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered in other provinces is an asset).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on complex electrical building systems and designing building services in a variety of building types, especially light industrial, healthcare, transportation facilities, and municipal buildings. Track record of lead design responsibility for Power Supply and Distribution, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Communications and Security systems for complex buildings.
Computer Skills - MS Office Suite, AutoCAD. (REVIT and Micro-station experience is an asset).
