The Jubilee Catholic Parish (Ashgrove, Bardon, Herston, Newmarket, Red Hill, Rosalie) is seeking applications for the position of Pastoral Animator.

Key responsibilities

The Pastoral Animator’s role is to assist the parish priests in the nurture, organisation and delivery of pastoral ministry. It is to network with parishioners, particularly in the Ashgrove and Newmarket communities of Jubilee Parish. The role is to empower them as members of the local Church so that they live as Disciples of Christ within the modern world. It is to minister with the Parish Priests and other Pastoral Staff in the conduct of the Church’s mission. It is forming parishioners to utilising their gifts for the co-creation of God’s kingdom. They will be responsible for: 

• Coordinating a range of Pastoral activities including pastoral care.
• Coordinating Liturgical Ministries in some of the communities.
• Be involved in adult faith formation, which will include working with the parish sacramental co-ordinator and RCIA.
• Nurturing Evangelisation, Spirituality, Justice and care for creation opportunities in the parish community.

Core competencies
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

• A sound knowledge of Catholic Church teaching and values
• An understanding of and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the Catholic Church
• Evidence of community engagement experience.
• Knowledge and experience of ministry in a Catholic context
• Highly developed organizational skills and interpersonal communication skills
• Must have a Qld suitability card for child related employment (Blue Card)
• Must have Police check or willing to obtain
• Current Qld driver’s license

Previous experience in this area is preferred.
