Lead UI Developer/ Architect (React / Node / Next JS)Location : Toronto, OnPosition Overview: As the Lead UI Developer, you will be responsible for leading the frontend development efforts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement UI components and features for our ecommerce platforms. You will leverage your expertise in React, Next.js, and Node.js to create scalable and high-performance solutions that meet our clients' business objectives. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and guiding junior developers, ensuring code quality and best practices are maintained throughout the development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Lead the frontend development efforts, from concept to implementation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality UI solutions for ecommerce platforms.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and user-friendly interfaces.Develop reusable UI components and libraries using React.js and Next.js, maintaining a clean and modular codebase.Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs using Node.js, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.Optimize application performance and user experience through responsive design, accessibility enhancements, and performance tuning.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UI development, ecommerce technologies, and frontend frameworks.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, conducting code reviews and guiding them in adopting best practices.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Overall 10 years experienceProven experience (5+ years) in frontend development, with expertise in React.js, Next.js, and Node.js.Extensive knowledge of ecommerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify, Adobe Commerce, or BigCommerce.Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous programming.Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and related frontend technologies.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in building ecommerce solutions from scratch or customizing existing platforms.Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR) and client-side hydration.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and version control systems (e.g., Git).Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
