Senior Data Architect

The Role Bitstrapped is seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Data Architect. The Senior Data Architect will be key to our Enterprise delivery team by modelling, designing, and implementing solutions to meet client requirements and business needs. As a Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and data engineering teams to design and implement data architectures, including pipelines, models, migrations, schemas, security, and operational components. Responsibilities Translate business logic or technical requirements into SQL and non-SQL data models for scalable solutions on cloud platforms. Develop and manage conceptual, logical, and physical data models with accompanying metadata, adhering to best practices for optimal data quality and accessibility. Document and communicate modelling processes and recommendations to the engineering team and stakeholders. Implement and uphold best practices in data management. Address data governance, quality, and protection issues by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and leadership to enhance core data assets and meet regulatory requirements. Assess existing data systems for inconsistencies and inefficiencies, identifying areas for improvement. Contribute significantly to data transformation processes for effective reporting, analytics, and visualization. Evaluate data storage requirements and establish and maintain the company's data infrastructure. Define requirements for new database architectures and identify solutions for innovative databases and data architectures. Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and timelines. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members Minimum Requirements 6+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture 3+ years of customer facing experience in a consulting or product setting Experience delivering technical presentations and live demonstrations in an enterprise business environment Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems. Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing ETL, ELT, data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures. Experience with Big Data technologies, Analytic Warehousing technologies, data processing technologies, and performance and scalability optimizations. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, TerraForm, Scala, SQL, or others and experience with related libraries and frameworks Experience with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure and their products Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
