The Opportunity:

Our team is seeking an energetic Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our multidisciplinary Process Design and Infrastructure team based in Mississauga. The team you will join will offer interesting diversity of clients and projects in surface and underground mine infrastructure including dewatering, backfill, tailings disposal, material handling, fuel and lube, truck shops, and pumping stations; industrial facilities and landfill gas extraction and flaring.

A day in the life:

  • Preparing equipment, procurement, and construction work packages.
  • Prepare Electrical design drawings and documents in consideration with safety, construction, and operations.
  • Performing engineering calculations.
  • Perform Power system modelling (short circuit, Arcflash, Protection & Coordination) with tools such as SKM Powertools, ETAP, etc.
  • Experience in power distribution, motor controls, grounding and lighting design.
  • Creating Costing estimates, material take-off and CWP.
  • Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field review.
  • Liaise with internal clients regularly to ensure project objectives are being managed and achieved in alignment with expectations
  • Participate in regular project meetings to ensure quality client delivery

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and/or equivalent qualification
  • Active professional member or eligible for professional membership with PEO.
  • Effective communication in English Language (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering consulting.
  • Previous electrical engineering experience on mining, industrial, water treatment or landfill projects would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation or Revit drafting software packages would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software such as Word and Excel.
  • A team player attitude and be able to work with multiple projects.
