Software Development Manager - Data Engineering We are currently seeking a Software Development Manager to join our Data Engineering team. This is a remote position. This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, remotely across Canada, or a combination of both. Our Data Engineering team is seeking a Development Manager . The team builds internal infrastructure which enable access to analytical data about Clio's business. This then helps power and drive business decisions from the tactical to the strategic.
The team will also build external infrastructure and enable productization of our customers' data so that they can derive insights and make business decisions about the operations of their firm.
For Development Managers this means supporting and growing your people, strong execution as a team and as a triad (the teams Designer + Product + Development manager leadership group), and building solid technical solutions. Our development managers are highly technical and hands on, often coding, designing and reviewing alongside their team. Working with your team on designing the technical solutions
Giving great feedback on code reviews, architecture documents, and more to help support team members making great technical decisions for their projects;
actively participate as a contributor to the project, either through extensive code reviews, or shipping code
Actively participating in hiring to grow engineering team at Clio;
Demonstrated success in people leadership in software development, particularly with large scale SaaS products;
A strong background in hands-on software development;
Demonstrated ability to hire a team of high-performance data engineers who deliver broad impact across Clio.
Diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems;
The ability to describe successful projects you worked on, as well as a collection of lessons learned from failed projects; A philosophy on what makes for great software development teams;

$The expected salary range* for this role is $163,000 to $244,500 CAD. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency. *The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio.
