Regional Director of Long Term Care
Applications are invited from highly-motivated and experienced health care leaders for the position of Regional Director of Long Term Care with NLHS, Western Zone in Corner Brook, NL.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Primary Health Care & Community Services, this position will be accountable for promoting excellence in resident care and for providing leadership and direction to clinical staff within three facilities, the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, and Western Long-Term Care as well as the Protective Community Residences and Personal Care Homes. General management and leadership of operations will include effective human and fiscal planning, strategic planning, quality improvement and performance monitoring. The Regional Director is responsible for leading long-term care initiatives across the Western Region and to ensure that standards of care are maintained at all long-term care and Personal Care Home sites.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities, and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

The successful candidate must also demonstrate expertise in the areas of quality improvement, risk management, resource management, and change management. The successful candidate must network and collaborate with various programs and multiple stakeholders in the region and the province. A master's degree in social sciences, Nursing, or Administration is required. Candidates must have at least five years progressive management experience in the health system together with a minimum of five years of clinical experience with advanced knowledge of best practices in the care of the elderly is required. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
