The main object and purpose of this position consist in testing and maintaining cylinders in a safe manner in order to satisfy customer expectations and improve quality of operations, all while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives. Assures cylinders testing: Fills cylinders with water. Attaches hydrostatic test head to the cylinder. Operates hoist to position the cylinder into the test jacket, enters data into the control console and tests cylinder. Marks test date and moves cylinders to designated areas.
Ensures cylinders maintenance: Replaces defective safeties, stems, packing nuts and handles on cylinder valves. Paints cylinders and applies decals and markings. Quality / Safety: Understands and implements required procedures (Standard Operating Instructions) as established in the relevant Quality Manual. Actively promotes ALC safety and quality objectives. Knows and respects all procedures as indicated in the ALC Quality Manual. Make sure the appropriate corrective and preventive measures are in place in order to answer customer complaints.
Finds information in the technical reference manual and prepares production reports on the number of cylinders painted, the number of valves repaired, the number of cylinders stained and cleaned and the number of defects. Provides this information to the Plant Manager.
Continuously analyses the functioning of the activity, identifies causes of dysfunction and proposes corrective measures accordingly. ___________________

~ Forklift training
~2 years of cylinder sorting and/or cylinder filling experience is an asset
