Employment Services is a dynamic and result-oriented program within CPU that offers a range of resources, supports and services to respond to job seekers' employment needs and employers' hiring demands. Employment Services aims to help Ontarians find sustainable employment by connecting them to gainful employment opportunities and guiding individuals on a path to higher skills and training to achieve their career goals. Develop excellent relationships with community partners providing services to youth, OW and ODSP case workers, and colleges and University programs to ensure all external partners know start dates and refer to the program on job coaching to support successful work experiences/placement activities.
Assist in tracking all program activity related to intake data, participation, milestones, outcomes, stipends, wage subsidy, and other required information.
Assess employment and stabilization needs of clients, establish realistic short- and long-term goals to address employment, develop employment action plans identifying the next steps required to meet employment goals and employment outcome targets, and refer to other appropriate services in the community as required.
Follow all agencies’ Health and Safety Policies and procedures.
Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Sales, Marketing or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of pre-employment support methods, re-training opportunities, and Labour market information and resources.
Knowledge and/or connections with community resources and supports available for youth.
Demonstrate sensitivity while facilitating workshops and providing individual employment coaching support to youth with employment barriers.
Advanced skills utilizing all Microsoft Office Applications and Databases and the ability to quickly learn new software and programs.
Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certified is considered an asset.
Do you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Social Work, Sociology, Human Resources, or related field of study?*
Do you have extensive knowledge of pre-employment supports methods, re-training opportunities, and labour market information and resources?*
Are you tech savvy with an ability to quickly learn new software and programs?*
Do you have knowledge and/or connections with community resources and supports available for youth?*
