Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automatic Door Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and complete the installations, repairs, and maintenance of various types of doors, including but not limited to automatic swing, sliding and revolving entrance systems, hollow metal, aluminum, glass and wood entrances as well as door hardware. Duties may include:

  • Installing and servicing of automatic sliding doors, automatic swing door operators and glazing as required along with other peripheral work (re-building rough openings, storefront modifications and repairs, etc.)
  • Installing and servicing actuators, relays, electrified hardware and door integration
  • Installing new doors, glass, and hardware according to specifications
  • Installation of commercial frames and doors such as: aluminum, steel, glass & wood
  • Repairing and adjusting door mechanisms and door hardware
  • Troubleshooting issues with door operation and recommending solutions
  • Complete work orders and safety forms and submit online for processing in a timely matter
  • Providing exceptional customer service and addressing client inquiries and concerns
  • Providing training to other apprentices
  • Upon completion, ensure job site is clean and clear of debris
  • Maintain inventory on truck and have knowledge and understanding of all parts, part numbers and part descriptions
  • Proficient using hand and power tools (ie. drills, caulking guns, pliers, screw drivers, etc.)
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Adapt to new field and IT technologies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an automatic door technician or in a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for door installation and repair
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Customer-focused mindset with effective communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Proficiency in the English language

Pay: $30.00-$39.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
