JUNIOR APPLIED DESIGN, SKILLS AND TECHNOLOGIES * (ADST 8-9) / BASKETBALL ACADEMY(and other subjects as deemed necessary by the timetable)
EFFECTIVE: September 1, 202 4
* NOTE: This Position Will Be Adapted to Reflect the Qualifications of the Successful Candidate .
The successful candidate will:
- Have qualifications and successful teaching experience in multiple components of the ADST curriculum. i.e. drafting, basic metal work, woodwork, outdoor exploration and or community connections, computers and digital technology, robotics, digital communications, computer programming
- Have qualifications and teaching experience delivering various sports academies
- Have demonstrated success with students with behavioral and motivational challenges
- Have a commitment to the directions of the school as outlined in the School Growth Plan
- Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas
- Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion
- Foster a student-centered environment in the classroom
- Have good interpersonal skills and a history of successful classroom management
- Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment
- Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional team attend meetings as required
- Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison
- Be committed to working as a cooperative member of a school wide instructional team and attend meetings as required.

SALARY: The starting annual salary for full-time Secondary School position ranges from $62,718 to $110,161, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $3,035 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance.
