Registered Practical Nurse Coordinator of Hospice
We are growing our team to enhance the care at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act. As a result, we are recruiting for a Full Time Registered Practical Nurse Coordinator of Hospice.
Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, complex continuing care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Registered Practical Nurse Coordinator of Hospice
Marianhill’s Registered Practical Nurse Coordinator of Hospice provides direct comprehensive care to Residents with specialized and complex needs based on clinical knowledge and decision-making skills in assessment, diagnosis, and health care management. The Registered Practical Nurse Coordinator of Hospice works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill’s Mission Statement, established policies and procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the client and promotes maximum independence.
Current Registered Practical Nursing diploma and registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Performs direct clinical care (i.e. skin and wound) clinical assessments and ensures proper updates to resident plan of care and supporting the nursing team
Participates in committees required clinical programs such as Falls Prevention, Skin and Wound Care, Palliative Care and Quality of Life Programs.
Performs other duties as applicable within the nursing role including but not limited to medication administration, data analysis, committee participation, etc.
Palliative and/or hospice care experience in a long-term care/community setting is preferred.
Technical expertise in computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, eMAR, etc.
Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
Oral and written proficiency in French is considered an asset.
Hours: Bi-weekly 75 hours/other to be discussed
Pension and benefits plan is provided to full time staff effective immediately on their starting date with no waiting periods applied
~ Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the Annual Influenza Program and N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
