Laboratory Analyst

This position is responsible for the determination of a wide range of inorganic parameters in water samples and soil extracts employing a variety of analytical instrumentation.
Prepare reagents, calibration, quality control standards, duplicates and spikes;
Data analysis and data reporting of ICPMS, ICPOES and Mercury Analyzer CVAAS;
Filtration of samples for various tests;
Query a work list of samples, creating work groups or digestion batches, printing lists of comparison data, and data transfer into LIMS;
Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
Completion of diploma or degree in chemistry or related field;
Experience with ICP-MS, ICP-OES and Mercury Analyzer would be an asset.
Ability to stand for a full shift;
Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
