Our Operations department is a talented group of professionals who are committed to conducting our business in a manner that ensures the safety and security of the public, our employees and contractors, our assets and the environment. Plains is looking for a skilled and motivated Red Seal journeyperson to support our Empress I-V South facility located one hour north of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Reporting to the Team Lead, I&E Maintenance, your duties will include overseeing daily maintenance activities at the facility and assuring the plant operates at maximum efficiency in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures. The role requires working a modified compressed 9-hour schedule with callouts and overtime as needed. 

Permanent residency within 120 km of the Empress facility is a condition of employment and preference will be given to local candidates. 

Ensure the operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance on MCCs, PLCs, variable frequency drives, motors, transformers, and equipment wiring.
Follow electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications related to the electrical trade.
Install, replace, and repair electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits within the operating facility.
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records on electrical circuits within a plant atmosphere.
Provide technical input and scope development for operations, projects, and turnarounds.
Complete all written and electronic records (i.e., Consult manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams, and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures.

Certified Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician; dual ticketed (or apprenticed) as an Instrumentation and Control Technician considered an asset
~5–10 years prior gas plant, refinery, pipeline, or oilfield experience required
~ Working knowledge and understanding of P&IDs as well as I/O and electrical drawings
~ Basic computer skills with knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo preferred), MS Word / Excel, and Outlook
~ Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a busy field environment
~ Strong focus on safety and accountability for safety performance
~ Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
~ Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing #Plains
