Position - Associate Animation Director
You are a talented Associate Animation Director who loves multiplayer, social and competitive games. At Haven, we're currently working on Fairgame$, a thrilling action heist PvPvE game for the PlayStation 5 and PC. We’re searching for an Associate Animation Director to join our team who loves the kind of game we are making at Haven. As the Associate Animation Director, you will play a key role in supporting and enriching the game’s creative vision by assisting in the definition of gameplay and narrative animation direction. You will work closely with the animation director, world director, audio director, and other creative stakeholders to enhance the player experience and ensure the game’s animation fidelity and quality. You will provide leadership and guidance to the animation team, collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of designers, programmers, and other professionals to bring the game’s vision to life.

The Associate Animation Director will report directly to the Animation Director.
Assist in defining a clear vision and guidelines for the animation team and communicate expectations effectively.
Support the Animation Director in anticipating future project challenges and setting high-level goals for the team.
Help ensure that quality objectives are met and that the assets produced align with the game's vision.
Collaborate with the project manager, technical director (TD), and programming team to ensure feasibility and maximize animation quality.
Work with production and leadership to manage project scope, balancing optimization and visual quality.
Take ownership of specific game features, ensuring they are developed to the highest quality and align with the overall animation direction.
Oversee and manage relationships with outsourcing partners, ensuring their deliverables meet the project’s standards and timelines.


Experience shipping at least one AAA game from start to finish in a leadership animation role.
Demonstrated experience in animation workflows, tools, and pipelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, including providing productive feedback and participating in brainstorming sessions.
Knowledge of runtime animation systems, concepts, and constraints.
Knowledge of multiplayer game constraints.
Previous experience in animation and rigging.
Experience working on a Game As A Service (GaaS).

En tant que directeur·trice adjoint·e de l'animation, vous jouerez un rôle clé dans le soutien et l'enrichissement de la vision créative du jeu en aidant à la définition de la direction de l'animation, de la jouabilité et de la narration. Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec le·la directeur·trice de l'animation, le directeur du monde, le directeur audio et d'autres intervenants créatifs afin d'améliorer l'expérience du·de la joueur·euse et de garantir la fidélité et la qualité de l'animation du jeu. Vous dirigerez et conseillerez l'équipe d'animation, en collaborant avec une équipe interdisciplinaire de concepteurs·trices, de programmeurs·euses et d'autres professionnels·elles pour donner vie à la vision du jeu.

Le·la directeur·trice adjoint·e de l'animation est directement rattaché·e au·à la directeur·trice de l'animation.

Aider à définir une vision et des lignes directrices claires pour l'équipe d'animation et communiquer efficacement les attentes.
Aider le·la directeur·trice de l'animation à anticiper les défis futurs du projet et à fixer des objectifs de haut niveau pour l'équipe.
S'assurer que les objectifs de qualité sont atteints et que les éléments produits sont conformes à la vision du jeu.
Collaborer avec le·la chef·fe de projet, le·la directeur·trice technique (DT) et l'équipe de programmation pour garantir la faisabilité et maximiser la qualité de l'animation.
Travailler avec la production et la direction pour gérer la portée du projet, en équilibrant l'optimisation et la qualité visuelle.
S'approprier des fonctionnalités spécifiques du jeu, en s'assurant qu'elles soient développées avec la plus haute qualité et qu'elles s'alignent sur l'orientation générale de l'animation.
Superviser et gérer les relations avec les partenaires d'externalisation, en veillant à ce que leurs livrables respectent les normes et les délais du projet.

Expérience de la livraison d'au moins un jeu AAA du début à la fin dans un rôle de leadership en animation.
Expérience avérée des flux de travail, des outils et des pipelines d'animation.
Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite avec des publics techniques et non techniques, notamment en fournissant un retour d'information productif et en participant à des séances de remue-méninges.
Connaissance des systèmes, concepts et contraintes de l'animation en temps réel.
Connaissance des contraintes des jeux multijoueurs·euses.
Expérience antérieure en animation et rigging.
Expérience de travail sur un jeu en tant que service (GaaS).
