Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller – 3 Month Contract

Responsibilities

· Own and execute month-end close and financial reporting.

· Oversee AP, AR, reconciliations, cash flow support, and general ledger accuracy.

· Lead and support the accounting team.

· Review and improve close procedures, controls, and finance documentation.

· Create clear process documentation and transition materials.

· Address immediate gaps and prioritize operational continuity during the handover.

· Support audit readiness and external advisor requirements.

· Partner with ownership and finance advisors on reporting and operational priorities.

Qualifications

· CPA designation preferred.

· Experience as an Assistant Controller, Controller, or senior accounting leader.

· Strong hands-on month-end close, financial reporting, and controllership experience.

· Experience in distribution, inventory-heavy, manufacturing, or multi-location businesses is preferred.

· Comfortable entering an environment with limited documentation and quickly creating structure.

· Strong Excel and ERP/accounting-system skills.

· Available to work primarily on-site in the Mississauga/Brampton area.

Pay Rate

$50.00 / Hour
