We are recruiting a Technical Mechanical Piping Designer to join our Global Consulting line in the Burlington office.
Progressive experience with detailed industrial, oil & gas and chemical piping systems.
Experience in the preparation of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement plans and sections.
Able to coordinate with other disciplines such as structural, electrical, HVAC to ensure no clashes.
Preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
Field experience safely obtaining existing site information regarding pipe routing, arrangements, supports, and sizes to develop background drawings with limited assistance.
Knowledge of engineering workflow processes and industry standards.
Ability to work closely with senior engineers and senior designers on the completion of deliverables with challenging schedules.
Experienced in 3D modelling, AutoCAD Plant 3D 
Knowledgeable in creating layouts and 3D models for process equipment and piping directly from P&IDs, vendor drawings (STP files) and piping specifications using codes and good design practices and generating 2D drawings from the 3D model.
Mechanical Technician diploma, in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate combined with relevant job experience.
~7 – 10 years of piping design experience within a consulting engineering firm working on industrial and/or chemical plant projects.
~ Field work experience is a strong asset.
~ Sound understanding of Engineering design principles, codes and regulations.
~ Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
~ Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
~ Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel to the site independently
