Project Manager – Construction Management (Supporting the GO Expansion Program) - (PRJMG41.Comtech) is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing integrated consulting solutions on complex capital projects, including Program and Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Technical Advisory, Construction Management, and Technology Integration Services. Project Manager – Construction Management (Supporting the GO Expansion Program)
Full-time
Internal Title: Project Management IV)
Support leadership and direction in the Construction and Project Delivery team, deliver timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills
Manage and oversee the entirety of projects valued between $300 - 400 million, ensuring successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Manage and implement the assigned projects from inception through to completion
Proactively engage with the various Project Delivery Teams (PDT’s)
Manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome
Recommend changes to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant areas in business and operating processes
Walk the sites and evaluate design information, review drawings and specifications
Review and confirm the Methodology Work Plans, risk assessments, and excavation permits to an approved standard prior to works activities commencing
Identify any opportunities to help develop the PDT’s delivery experience, through coaching and mentoring of the on-site teams
Help to develop the Constructors & PDT’s approach to proactive Health and Safety
Issue daily shift reports in a timely manner on-site progress and record all safety, quality, environmental, staffing, access, and program issues that arise
Develop new project or program plans and expectations in consultation with and delegating deliverables to stakeholders, including clients
Determine and manage the human and material resources required to complete assigned projects successfully
Exercise authority in managing the work and control the delivery of the projects per project plans
Identify risks and entrench mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Monitor and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
Evaluate the project's effectiveness by consulting with clients and other stakeholders
Establish and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, client executives, key stakeholders, and Operations
Oversee ongoing quality control, participate in quality issue resolution, and manage internal quality control checks for the project
Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycle
Complete any tasks assigned by Project Management V or higher in an efficient and timely manner
Office-based
Minimum of 12 years of experience in Project Management
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Licenses OR Certifications:
~ Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experienced construction manager in the rail sector i.e., Solid understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics
Commercial and basic understanding of construction contract law and an understanding of multiple contract types
Experienced understanding of resource, interface, and constraints management
Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Project Management software
Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
Proven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks
Effectively leads multi-resource Project Management teams
Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
Proven success in providing on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
