As our Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects from the implementation phase through to completion. Ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and according to the contract and applicable specifications and Scope of Work

Position Overview:

  • Primary responsibility is to build successful projects defined as: on time, on budget, and built safely with the appropriate level of quality, meeting client’s expectations.
  • Provide input into initial phase of the project by drawing on previous experience to help ensure that the client’s needs are fully understood and that the preliminary scope and conceptual work are directionally correct, including use of innovative alternatives.
  • Assumes overall management of the project once the Letter of Intent has been signed by the client.
  • Works with the Project Planner and other FWS personnel to finalize the design, estimates and schedules for the project.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely production of purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Project Design Engineer, Drawing Office Manager, and outside consultants are fully aware of project schedule and drawing requirements. Continually monitors progress of drawings for timeliness and accuracy. Takes action to correct any deviations from plan.
  • Ensures that project costs are correctly entered into accounting system for project costing purposes.
  • Resolves problems with subcontractors, suppliers and employees when necessary.
  • Documents, prices and implements any change requests from the client or as otherwise required on the project.
  • Organizes and leads Project Focus meetings on a timely basis.
  • Primary day-to-day contact and liaison with client on project specific matters. Responsible for taking the client through the building on completion of the project. Ensures that any defects or errors are corrected and obtains client sign off on the project.
  • Coordinates any warranty work as required striving for “zero deficiencies.”
  • Keeps a record of quality control issues and design notes for reference by others for future projects.

Qualifications Needed:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering or C.E.T. is the preferred qualification. Equivalent technical training or very strong trade/field experience and knowledge may be acceptable OR minimum 10 years experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills .
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle criticism and diffuse confrontational situations.
  • Computer skills including Timberline Job Cost, MS Office, AutoCAD and project management software.
  • A good understanding of basic business principles including financial, legal, and organizational aspects.
