Northwood is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Term Recreation Therapist to join our team .
Reporting to the Lead, Recreation Therapist
Provides specialized, therapeutic recreation assessments, treatment plans, services, and evaluations in order to assist residents in their specific needs
Serves as a resource both clinically and administratively to the recreation programmers.
Mentors students from a variety of disciplines with a focus on students in recreation therapy programs
Evaluate the global needs in the development and implementation of recreation programs.
Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation Certification and current registration as a Recreation Therapy Specialist
Minimum two years’ experience working in recreation a health care setting
Experience working with a geriatric population considered an asset
Emergency Protocols, Risk Management Procedures, Falls Prevention Methods, Environmental Hazard Awareness, Customer and Personal Service, Education and Training, Psychology
Strong Communication, Organizational, Interpersonal, Problem Solving, Time Management, Social Perceptiveness skills
Hours: 40 hours bi-weekly (8-12 hour shifts) - Days/Evenings
