ECOH is currently looking for a Project Manager QP ESA to join our Environmental team. As a Project Manager QP ESA you will be a core member of the Environmental team, primarily responsible for managing and conducting a variety of deliverables including Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Site remediation, filing a record of site condition, onsite & excess soil management (in accordance with O.406/19) projects. The Project Manager/QP ESA will apply his/her experience related to the RSC process, RSC submissions and excess soil management, and will hold a P. Eng (Ontario) and a QPESA designation with a high degree of technical knowledge and a minimum of 5 to 10 years of related industry experience as a QP ESA .
Overseeing a team of Environmental Technologists / Environmental Scientists, Senior Environmental Technologists / Senior Environmental Scientists, and junior staff, ensuring that Corporate Standards are met in all regards.
Delegating responsibilities and providing direction and instruction to junior staff according to ECOH standards and techniques.
Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that project resources meet or exceed established guidelines for standards of performance.
Serving as the link between the junior staff and the Operations Manager to identify and close training gaps.
Providing consistent constructive and meaningful feedback to junior staff.
Overseeing and managing all aspects of consulting projects.
Conducting technical peer reviews and assisting with Sr. review of Phase One/Two ESAs, remedial action plans, risk assessments and implementation of remediation work, with a focus on Record of Site Condition and Excess Soil Management Projects.
Providing technical direction, training and mentorship to Environmental Technologists / Environmental Scientists, Senior Environmental Technologists / Senior Environmental Scientists and Jr. Project Manager(s).
Managing, supervising, and occasionally completing environmental sampling activities at various types of contaminated sites, including, but not limited to industrial, commercial, military, and other federal, provincial, and municipal sites. These responsibilities will mostly consist of the coordination of work done by other staff and/or subcontractors.
Planning, conducting, supervising, reporting, and reviewing the work of others for consulting projects.
Designing programs to meet the scope of work and regulatory requirements.
Participating in project and financial management including financial analysis.
Management of Client and their expectations.
Maintaining quality control, quality assurance and policy compliance
Providing presentations and publishing technical articles.
Experience in Excess Soil Management projects as a QP ESA
A minimum of 5-10 years experience in a related field/industry as a QP ESA .
Strong understanding of Municipal, Provincial and Federal regulations.
Time and resource management- ability to provide field staff with the appropriate direction, guidance, and instructions.
Demonstrates strong support of corporate initiatives and plans.
Willingness to share technical knowledge and expertise with peers.
Ability to work effectively with fellow project managers, senior management, clients, and contractors, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
Sound judgement pertaining to business and project activities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong budgetary skills exercised for the management of projects and resources.
Strong written/verbal communications skills- Demonstrates the ability to present technical data effectively to internal staff and clients.
Valid driver’s license and adequate insurance must be maintained at all times.
General to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge and understanding of other technical related software programs (as required).
